This is about The Ed Gein Fan Club, a bona fide punk rock band that existed in Minneapolis, MN during the years 1984 – 2002.
What follows is a rare live recording which Ollie Stench has graciously allowed me to record back in the day, and has generously allowed to be shared on Live Music Archive with other past, present and future fans.

I believe this was another TCPunk Party – Ollie introduces this as being the band’s 9th show since 1984. Astute followers of the group will observe that all nine tracks from the CD-R release “Original Punk Rock Since 1984” were performed, along with a couple of classic punk anthems from The Ramones and the crew at Sesame Street.
MNHS lists the date as 2002-08-01 / I had it listed as 2002-08-10. I opted to go with the MNHS listing, as I only recorded A-Bomb Nation and Ed Gein Fan Club once, and they are also mentioned in the Plate-O-Shrimp set, as well as Kontrol Panel. I probably could have taken better notes at the time, but I’m fairly certain I was under the influence of too much punk rock on that particular evening, along with everyone else who was present. Enjoy!

Although yours truly has no connections to any of the so-called social media sites of the day, I have it on good authority that a detailed history of The Ed Gein Fan Club was posted by Ollie Stench over at the band’s facebook page
In 2002, the classic album “Original Punk Rock Since 1984” was recorded and released by the band on the modern CD-R format.
A few tracks have turned up on a couple of compilations, which have been spotted over at the discogs site
A live video of what is allegedly the band’s last ever performance, has been spotted at youtube
