The Developing Arts And Music Foundation
& First Avenue Magazine

Minneapolis, MN
2001 – 2003

After having written for a slew of publications across the U.S., it seemed reasonable that I should take a stab at writing for the predominant entertainment weekly in Minneapolis. After all, Prince didn’t get played on Mpls radio until he had broken the market in just about every other state in the Union. I’d been writing professionally for years all over the world; it seemed like it was about time to see if I could establish a reputation in my own hometown.

D.A.M.F. was the acronym for The Developing Arts And Music Foundation, which was a grassroots organization working under the auspices of First Avenue.

For a brief time, this little magazine was one of my favorite publications to write for, but alas, nothing good lasts forever …
