Every now and then I have to break away from the industry aspect of the music biz, and tackle a pet project just for the fun of it. This time it was an old cassette that Peter Jesperson loaned to me many years ago, of Curtiss A‘s early band, Spooks, performing at the Longhorn Bar in Minneapolis, 1978. Since Peter was visiting Portland in November 2023 to promote his memoir – Euphoric Recall, I reckoned I should probably return the tape after all the years it had lived in my collection. But then, I couldn’t pass up the chance to cut a few of those live tracks for posterity, now could I?
