First of all, thanks and much love to Mark, Jojo, and Megan of Wookiefoot, for all the fun times we’ve shared, and extra-special thanks to Mark, for the tip on Matisyahu!

Also, many thanks to Leib for making it possible for me to share this recording, in the further interests of the Matisyahu live archives!! Besides being a bit of vintage Matisyahu, it is also significant in that it’s the first Wookiefoot show to get clearance from the band to be shared on a torrent tracker, thanks to Leib! They’ve always been okay with taping and trading, but not so much into the online thing, unless that’s changed recently. This is also the first show I’ve ever uploaded to e-tree, so I hope it all goes well!

This recording is a bit rough in places (not my worst recording, but definitely not my best, either), and the crowd can be pretty rowdy at times, but this was the first time I saw Matisyahu, and I feel lucky to have documented this performance. Just on the verge of becoming huge, in a relatively small club, weaving his songs into the Wookiefoot set, who in turn backed him for a handful of songs. A little piece of history. I’ve shared this once before in a trade, but this is a much better mastered version, trust me.

This is a 16/44.1kHz stereo audience recording (down-sampled from 24/96)
No processing has been applied to these files except a minor bit of surgery to mask a guy who grabbed one of my mics and was screaming directly into it.
Duration: 02:43:03

Lineage:
minidisc > PC (24/96 analog/digital transfer) > CD Wave Editor (sector boundary tracking) > SoundForge (editing / downsampling) Trader’s Little Helper (Level 8 .wav > .flac conversion)

Source:
recorded with 2 Church Audio pro-binaural omni mics attached to L+R sides of pole in center of room; approximately 8 ft high; approximately 12 ft in front of stage > Church Audio pre-amp [-20dB attenuation] > Sharp IM-DR420 minidisc [LP2 setting] >
